Brief overview of falafel and its origins

falafel

Falafel is a popular Middle Eastern food made from ground chickpeas, spices, and herbs. It is typically formed into balls or fritters and deep-fried, and then served in a pita bread with various toppings such as tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and tahini sauce. Falafel is believed to have originated in Egypt, where it is a popular street food, but it is now enjoyed in many countries around the world. It is a staple of vegetarian and vegan cuisine, as it is a protein-rich food that can be made without animal products.
